Michael Maurice Allen Sr., age 61 of Clarksville, passed away on Monday, Dec 18, 2017 at his residence. He was born on Feb 24, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois to Virgil and Lazelle Allen. He served 18 years in the United States Army and coached military league basketball in Ft. Polk, LA; Ft.Sill, OK; Schwabischgmund, West Germany; and Baumholder where his team held many titles. Upon his exit from the Army, he spent 20 years as a correctional officer in Nashville, TN. He was a Prince Hall Mason and Kappa Alpha Si 1975.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, Dec 27, 2017 at 12:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in KY Veterans Cemetery West. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Dec 26, 2017 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home and Wednesday, Dec 27, 2017 from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Brenda; his sons, Michael Jr., Markus, Gregory, and Eric Allen; daughters, Pamela and Natasha Allen; and brother, Virgil Allen.
