Metta Robison

Metta Abernathy Robison age 92, died at 3pm Wednesday, July 25th, 2018.  The funeral will be Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Sykes Funeral Home with Pastor Ben Falls officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 30, 2018 from 3:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery. Metta was born November 16, 1925 in Montgomery County.  She was the daughter of the late Clyde and Irene Davis Abernathy.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Ferron J. “Rob” Robison, son Ronald J. Robison, and brother, Brandon Abernathy.  Metta worked in cost accounting, and payroll departments at Fort Campbell, KY.  She also worked at the Leaf Chronicle, Clarksville Chamber of Commerce, Credit Bureau, and served several local attorneys as a legal secretary towards the end of her career.  She was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church and Antioch United Methodist Women.  Survivors include one daughter, Susan Gillenwater of Hendersonville, TN and one son, Randy Robison, wife Lisa, of Atlanta, GA, eight grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren, and her sister, Rebecca Gardner of Knoxville, TN.  Pallbearers will be Darrell Robison, Joshua Robison, Justin Robison, Stephen Corlew, George Steward, Jerry Sparks, and Robert Sumner.  Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters and the Fellowship Sunday School Class of Antioch Methodist Church.  Memorial contributions may be made to the  Antioch Methodist Church Cemetery Fund,  Bobby Mills, 451 Fentress Lane, Clarksville, TN 37040.
