Melissa Verline Turner, 75, Clarksville, died Friday, October 2, 2009, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Sykes Funeral Home with Rev. Herbert McFadden officiating. Burial will be in Dunbar Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Sunday and from 9:00 A.M. until the hour of service Monday at Sykes Funeral Home. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Turner was born in Stewart County, TN on June 9, 1934 to the late Ray and Linora Parker Austin. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Earnie Turner. She was a housewife and a member of Memorial Baptist Church. She is survived by sons, Randle (Diane) Turner of Clarksville, James (Judy) Turner of Woodlawn; daughter, Judy (Ray) Richardson of Clarksville; brothers, Harold Dean (Betty) Austin of Indian Mound, Elton (Buelah) Austin of Indian Mound; sisters, Dorothy Cottrall and Margie Page of Dover; 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
