Mary Ruth Hackett Woodard, age 83 of Nashville, passed away at Alive Hospice on Saturday, November 18, 2017. She was born July 25, 1934, to James Ulyss and Grady Ford Hackett of Smith County. In addition to her parents and infant brother Billy Kenneth Hackett, she was preceded in death by, grandson Adam Pappas in 2014, and both siblings, Paul Hackett and Linda McDonald, in spring of this year.
Mary is survived by her husband of 65 years, Billy J. Woodard, daughters Pat (Steve) Hall, Jane (Gust) Pappas, grandchildren Ryan (Julia) Meadows, Erin Meadows, Andrew Pappas, Alex (Erin) Pappas. She was expecting her first great-grandchild in April, 2018.
Mary retired from TECA in 1996, where she was advertising manager for the Tennessee Magazine. She is a member of her beloved McFerrin Missionary Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held at McFerrin Church Monday, November 20, 4 PM to 8 PM, Tuesday, November 21, 11 AM to 12:45 PM. Service will be held at 1 PM with Bro. Johnny Carver and Bro. Kenneth Massey officiating. Pallbearers will be Gust Pappas, Steve Hall, Ryan Meadows, Andrew Pappas, Alex Pappas, and nephew John McDonald. Interment will be at Forest Lawn in Goodlettsville.
