Mary Weakley

Mary Lillian Daniel Weakley, of Cumberland Furnace, TN went to be with the Lord after 100 years of a full life on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at her daughters residence after a brief illness.  Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

The funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with Rev. Jack W. Davis and Rev. Melvin Brooks officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service on Sunday at the Church.  Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery.

She was born January 20, 1915 in Dickson County, TN to the late J. V. and Ollie Davis Daniel.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas C. Weakley; daughter, Mary Will Doster; brothers, Fred Mellon Daniel, Will Ed Daniel, Jack Jesse Daniel and Tom Davis Daniel.

She is a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.  Except for the last few years, she lived her whole life in the Cumberland Furnace area which she loved so well.  She a loving wife, mother and home maker.   Her many years of serving the Lord at Mt. Zion Church was one of her greatest joys.  She will be remembered for her passion for quilting, growing flowers and sharing laughter, wit and wisdom with anybody she came in contact with.

She is survived by two daughters, Ann (Clyde) Candler,  Sue Dickens; son, John Daniel (Phyllis) Weakley; 5 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ted Daniel, Jerry Daniel, Frank Murphy, Steve Pierce, Steve Goehring and David Boling.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mt. Zion Cemetery Fund, First Southern Methodist Church, Nashville or Lighthouse Christian Camp, Smithville, TN.
