Mary Elizabeth `Ebby` Traylor Stanley, 87, Suwanee, Georgia formerly of Clarksville, died Sunday, October 25, 2009, at Suwanee, Georgia. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Entombment will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. She was born on May 12, 1922 in Chapmansboro, TN to the late J.W. Trayor and Lula Basford Traylor. Survivors include a loving husband of 69 years, Thomas A. Stanley, Sr. of Suwanee, GA; son, Blue Spotted Elk and wife, Christine, of Springfield, SD; daughter, Janet Wright and husband, David, of Suwanee, GA; sister, Doris Robinson and husband, Carol, TX; brother, John Traylor of TN; grandchildren, Tommy Stanley and wife, Allison, of Clarksville, TN, Kimberly Chesin and husband Grant, of Alpharetta, GA, Cody, Sundance, and Ahbleza Stanley of NC, Rain Spotted Elk of SD; and great-grandchildren, Lauren Stanley of Clarksville, TN, Amanda Chesin and Tiffany Chesin of Alpharetta, GA. Mrs. Stanley was a "Southern Belle" in every sense of the word. When she retired, her days were filled with involvement in several ladies organizations; she learned how to paint, make gold jewelry, and many different crafts. She was the heart of her family, a true friend to those lucky enough to know her, and always looking at ways to broaden her knowledge and do for others. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 28th, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Crowell Brothers Funeral Home in Norcross. They will also receive friends Thursday, October 29th, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Sykes Funeral Home in Clarksville, TN. The funeral service will be held Friday, October 30th, at 2:00 p.m. at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville, TN. Entombment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Clarksville, TN.
