Mary Sharp

Mary Pauline Sharp, 91, Clarksville, died Wednesday, January 7, 2009, at her home. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Pleasant View Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Graves officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the church. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Sharp was born August 16, 1917 in Dickson County, daughter of James Dugan and Lucinda Bowen Dugan. She was preceded in death by her husbands Robert Paul Burnette and Thomas Jerry Sharp. Also preceded in death by a daughter Sandra Buchanan Lamb, seven brothers, four sisters, one granddaughter and one grandson. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and friend to all. She was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church, Baptist Women's Organization, Ajax Turner Senior Citizens Center and the Silver Circle Sunday School Class of which she was Secretary. She is survived by a daughter Barbara Fortner Hayes, and son-in-law Mack Hayes of Clarksville, ten grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and fourteen great great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Russell Atchley, Mark Malick, William F. Seago, Darrell Blackard, Joe Lallo and Jerry Verkler. www.sykesfuneralhome.com
