Mary Lee Stovall Jung, age 98, passed away Dec. 26th. with family by her side. She passed in Clarksville TN after a family Christmas gathering not far from her birthplace of Erin TN. She was born Aug 8,1920 and a resident of Charleston W.Va. for the last 43 years.
Mary Lee was preceded in death by her father Henry Stovall, mother Lorena Greenland, husband Col. Gordon Jung, daughters Carol Rogers, Cinda Lee Jung, and Jennifer Jung-Kilbreath.
Survivors are son Gary Jung of Honolulu, HI and daughter Leslie Hess of Kamuela, HI. Granddaughters: Beth Rogers of Warm Springs, VA., Shannon Kleckner of Orlando, FL., and Jessica Lancaster of Clarksville, TN. Grandsons; Miles Jung-Kilbreath of Fairlawn, OH., Graham Jung-Kilbreath of Tallmadge OH., Tyler Levitt of Kamuela HI., three great-grandsons one great great grandson, and one great great granddaughter on the way.
Mary Lee was an Army wife and stay at home mother. During those years she made a home for her family in many places such as Japan, Germany, Belgium, Ft. Campbell Ky twice (Clarksville), Alaska plus many other states in the U.S.
She was a volunteer in the Red Cross, Girl Scouts, Meals on Wheels and for at least 35 years she served on the council of Presbyterian Women as an officer of Village Chapel Presbyterian Church.
Her interests were reading, travel, painting, old movies, and especially playing bridge.
The memorial service will be held Saturday Jan. 5th - 3pm at Village Chapel Presbyterian Church, 3818 Venable Ave. Charleston, 25304 W.Va., led by Rev. Dr. Todd and Rev. Amy Parker. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Common Grounds Project at Village Chapel Presbyterian Church.
Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery, time to be determined, projected approx Aug 2019.
