Mary Lou Grimes

A Celebration of Life service for Mary Lou Grimes, age 91, of Southside, TN, will be Friday, September 20, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home with Pastor Benton Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Rye's Chapel Cemetery where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Raymond E. Grimes. The family will receive friends Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM and again on Friday from 10:30 AM until the time of service.

Mary Lou was born on June 18, 1933, in Southside, TN, to Daniel and Zelma Sinks. She passed away on September 16, 2024. Mary Lou enjoyed staying busy, whether it was gardening, cleaning, or just enjoying time with family. She was a strong-willed, independent woman with a heart for taking care of others. Mary Lou leaves her family with memories they will treasure forever. 

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Lou is preceded in death by her son, Jerry Wayne Grimes; and siblings: DT Sinks, Thurman Sinks, Ray Sinks, Susie Sutton, Erma Jo Eads, and Bessie Russell. She is survived by her brother, Jesse Sinks; grandsons: Scott (Amy) Grimes, Randy Grimes, and Jeremy Grimes; and great-grandchildren: TJ Grimes, Lauren Grimes, Justin Grimes, Ryan Grimes, Brianna Denton, and William Grimes.
