Mary Elizabeth Conlee "Big Mary" Garrard, age 88, of Clarksville passed away Friday, August 23, 2013 at Gateway Medical Center. Sykes Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. The Funeral Service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jamie Williams, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 and 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.

She was born in Ada, Oklahoma on January 4, 1925 to the late Lonnie L. & Effie May Conlee. She was also preceded in death by husband, Dalton "Jake" Garrard. She grew up with her six siblings on the farm in Oklahoma and moved on to be a successful business owner for over 60 years. She was the owner of Mary's Saddle Club in Clarksville. Mary was a "River" to her family and to many friends in Clarksville. She will now walk with our Lord in the green grasses of heaven. May she watch over us and guide us through our lives here on this earth as she rests in peace. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

She is survived by daughters, Lisa A. Poindexter of Clarksville, Mary E. (Randy) Leyhe of Clarksville; sons, Vernon R. (Susan) Smith of Clarksville, Anthony W. Griffin of Kansas; grandchildren, Taylor E. Poindexter, Dalton LW (Holly Green) Robins, Devan M. Robins and Ian Smith, all of Clarksville.

Pallbearers will be Dalton LW Robins, Timothy Malson, Steve Reda, James Williams, Sammy Green, Mark Bolin and Mike Studtman.
