Martha Dever

Mrs. Martha Frances Grisard Dever, 90, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018 at McCready Manor in Richmond surrounded by her family. Mrs. Dever, the daughter of the late Thomas Edward Grisard and Ara Frech Grisard, was born in Clarksville, Tennessee on June 23, 1927. She was a graduate of St. Thomas School of Nursing in Nashville, Tennessee. She was a retired R.N. having served at Hospice of Louisville and St. Anthony Hospital. On June 1, 1957, Mrs. Dever united in marriage to Kenneth Eugene Dever who preceded her in death on March 23, 1994.
She is survived by two daughters: Sally Dannenberg and husband Richard of Madison County and Julie Shackelford and husband Art of Lee County; three grandchildren: Elizabeth Ann Cumberland & husband Kevin, Michael Joseph Dannenberg and wife Stephanie and Shelby Renee Newman & Matthew Addams; three great grandchildren: Jaxon James Cumberland, Kendal Renee Cumberland & Isaac Richard Dannenberg and two sisters-in-law: Mary Grisard and Marilyn Grisard.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Dever was preceded in death by her brothers: Thomas, Gus, Al, Frank and Charlie Grisard and sisters: Rebecca Weiland, Eula Catherine Murphy and Nancy Grisard. Mrs. Dever dearly loved all of her friends and became close to many of the staff at McCready Manor.

A Graveside Service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M.  Friday March 9, 2018 at Greenwood Cemetery 976 Greenwood Ave, Clarksville, TN. Family and friends are encouraged to come prepared to share their favorite memory at the service. The family suggests expressions of sympathy be made to your local hospice care organization.
