Funeral Mass for Marilyn Louise Vancil, age 75 of La Vergne, TN will be Saturday, May 28, 2016 at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 28, 2016 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Antioch, TN. Mass will follow at 1:00 PM. Marilyn passed away peacefully with family at her side on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at Stone Crest Medical Center. She was born on August 18, 1940 in Dover, New Jersey to Edward and Mary Baker. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel A. Vancil I, and her brother, Frederick Baker. Marilyn graduated from Dover High in Dover, New Jersey on June 19, 1958. On June 19, 1959 Marilyn and Daniel A. Vancil I, were joined together in Holy Matrimony and were married for 52 and a half years. Marilyn was a career Navy wife making a home everywhere. She was a certified nurse's aid at Amity Manor in Topsham, Maine. She was a loving wife, mom, grandma, Grammy, sister, aunt and friend. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Vancil Parker, son, Daniel A. Vancil II, brother, Edward "Ed" (Gail) Baker, sister, Patricia "Pat" (Pete) Fallat, grandchildren; Liberty (Jason) Flowers, US Army Capt. Daniel A. Vancil III "Danny" (Nicolette Guerrero), Charles "Eddie" Vancil, and Amber Parker, great-grandchildren; Mason Flowers, Chloe Flowers, Cara Flowers and Ben Vancil and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers for respect of the funeral Mass, donations may be made to St. Mark's Episcopal Church, The Kidney Foundation, Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle TN, and any of our Veteran's charities.
