Margaret Nell Gibbs Blackwell, age 85, of Clarksville passed away Monday, May 12, 2014 at Centennial Medical Center. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. The Funeral Service will be at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Forest Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Sonny Kim and Rev. Paul Tramel. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at the Funeral Home and 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Forest Street United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
She was born in Montgomery County on March 1, 1929 to the late Mack and Virgie Alley Gibbs. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Sterlin Blackwell; brother, Ernest Gibbs and great-grandson, Anderson Paul Blackwell.
She was employed at Acme boot for 45 years and was a lifelong member of Forest Street United Methodist Church.
She is survived by children Linda Faye Byard, Cerelle Baggett, Janice Blackwell, Bill (Debbie) Blackwell, Steve (Anna) Blackwell; siblings, Mary Murphy, Billie Basinger; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Ronnie Byard, Eric Blackwell, Chris Blackwell, David Baggett, Charles Blackwell, Brandon Blackwell, Tyler Blackwell, Jayson McClendon and Hunter Blackwell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ryan Wolfe, Mason Calhoun, Graham Blackwell, Brake Blackwell and the members of the Fellowship Sunday School Class of the Forest Street United Methodist Church.
