LTC Alexander Cunningham Findlay, ARMY (Ret)

A Celebration of Life service for LTC Alexander Cunningham Findlay, ARMY (Ret), age 59, of Clarksville, TN, will be Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West where full military honors will be rendered. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:30 AM until the time of service. 

Affectionately known as Alex, he was born on October 12, 1964 in Chicago, IL, to Wray and Kathryn Findlay. Alex retired from the United States Army after over 20 years of service. During his honorable career, he served in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Korea. Alex attended Eastern Illinois University where he was a member of Delta Chi Fraternity. He was a long time member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Apollo Beach, FL. Alex enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and watching sports. Aside from a good party, he also loved grilling and traveling. Alex lived by the motto, "positive attitude."

Alex is preceded in death by his father. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Jodi Hargan Findlay; sister, Susan and her husband Mike Owens along with their children, Emily Owens and Ben (Jordan) Owens; sisters-in-law: Jessica (Shawn) Heitzman, Jamie Powell, Julie (Bert) Sampson, Erin Hargan, and Stacey (Jeff) Gaither; and many more loving family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be: Ben Owens, Mike Skinner, Jay Connors, Ritchie Young, James Daly, and Shawn Heitzman. 

Honorary pallbearers will be: Tim Mulholland, Dave Duffy, Marty Wagner, Bert Sampson, Noah Heitzman, and Brennan Sampson.
