Louise Byrd

Louise Bumpus Byrd, age 95, of Clarksville passed away Monday, January 7, 2013 at her daughters residence.  Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.   Funeral  Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2013 at Sykes Funeral Home with Rev. William Childress officiating.  Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2013 and 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Friday.  Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
She was born in Montgomery County, TN on February 28, 1917 to the late Robin and Lena Rose Bumpus.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Luther Lee Byrd; son, Robert J. Byrd; brothers, Leonard Bumpus, Douglas Bumpus, Jewell Bumpus; sisters, Maggie Baggett, Susie Grant; grand-daughters, Sherry A. Shepherd, Brenda G. Bowers and Deborah K. Lewis.   She was retired from Acme Boot Company and a member of Antioch United Methodist Church.
She is survived by daughters, Dorothy L. Bowers, Sarah M. (Ledbetter) Shepherd; sisters, Frances Tucker, Lottie Cook; grandchildren, Terry W. (Connie) Bowers, Michael B (Charmain) Bowers, Karen L. (Steve) Christy, Craig T. (Donna) Byrd; 7 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Steve Christy, Mark Cooley, Ledbetter Shepherd, Joshua Bowers, Aaron Eades, Terry Bowers, Craig Byrd and Michael Bowers.
