Louis Powers

Louis Ray Powers, 80, formerly of Montgomery County passed away Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the St. Anthony’s Health Care Center in Warren, MI.  Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Sykes Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home with Rev. Jon Justice officiating.  Burial will follow in the Center Point Cemetery in the Slayden Community.  Mr. Powers was born October 11, 1931 in Montgomery County to the late Woody L. and Lillie Shelton Powers.  He was also preceded in death by his wife Donna Laughlin Powers and step-son, Charles Graves.  He is survived by sons, Paul House, Louis R. Powers, Jr., Robert (Theresa) House; daughters, Loiuse (Kenny) McCurdy, Lonnette (Brian) Obuchowski, Carol (Gary) Hembree, Cheryl (Joe) Smith, Charmane (Phil) Hall, Charlene (Clyde) Elmore; sisters, Christine Rose, Catherine (Curtis) McWhorter, Alice Butts, Dottie (Donnie) Allison and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He served in the US Army and has worked as a Security Guard.  Family and Friends will serve as Pallbearers.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Lung Association.  Online condolences may be made at www.sykesfuneralhome.com
