Leroy Davis, age 92, of Clarksville, passed away Monday, July 21, 2014 at Gateway Medical Center. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. The Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Hilldale Baptist Church with Dr. Larry Robertson. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 25, 2014 at Sykes Funeral Home and 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Hilldale Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
He was born October 6, 1921 in Palmyra, TN to the late John M. and Una Gay Kennedy Davis. He was also preceded in death by 4 brothers and 4 sisters.
He served in the US Army and achieved the rank of SGM and was a WWII Veteran, a member of the Battle of the Bulge, 99 th Infantry and retired from Civil Service at Ft. Campbell. He was also co-owner of Davis and Kelley Food Market and served as Deacon and Treasurer of Hilldale Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Lillian Marshall Davis; son Ken (Lanell) Davis; daughter, Karen (Jerry) Allbert; sister, Thelma Kelley; grandchildren, Mark (Kelly) Allbert, Jordan (Eric) Russell, Brandon Davis; great-grandchildren, Zachary Allbert, Jaden Allbert, Brandi Shea Figueiredo and Katelyn Grace Russell.
Pallbearers will be Andy Marshall, Phillip Buchannon, Danny Krantz, Steve Wall, Glen Nanney, Wes Willoughby.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hilldale Baptist Church Building Fund, 2001 Madison St., Clarksville, TN 37043.
