Lela Jewel Bogard Butts, age 76, of Clarksville, died Friday, February 15, 2013 at Gateway Medical Center. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 17, 2013 at the Chapel of Resthaven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Carolyn Nobling officiating. Entombment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
She was a Christian with the following testimony, "First, I love God with all my heart and life, and second, I have an unconditional and forgiving love for my family and friends."
She was born May 16, 1936 in Bumpus Mills, TN to the late William Owen and Sadie Marie Ezell Bogard. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Erle M. Butts; sons, Kenneth M. (Kim) Butts, V. Todd (Linda) Butts, brother, Charles (Barbara) Bogard; grandchildren, Justin Todd Butts, Jordan Victor Butts, Matthew Kyle Butts, Mackenzie Lynn Butts, Ethan McKay Butts, Michael J. (Mo) Kane, Bobby (Misty) Kane; great-grandchildren, Amryn Marie Kane and Weston Scott Kane.
Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, Contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or The Clarksville Chapter of Salvation Army.
