Laura Paterson

Mrs. Laura Mildred Gorman Paterson passed away on March 5, 2011 at Montgomery Care & Rehab.  Her visitation will begin Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:30 at the funeral home.  Her funeral will be Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be in Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.  The  Founders Class of Hilldale United Methodist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. Mrs. Paterson was born June 18, 1917 in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late William Gorman, Sr. and Minnie Bishcoff Gorman.  She was preceded in death by her husband John B. Paterson, son Robert Scott Paterson, siblings Eleanor, Edna, Irene, Estelle and William Gorman, Jr.  She was a homemaker and member of Hilldale United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crafts, and was a member of the Home Demonstration Club in Clarksville and Dickson.  She is survived by her daughter Phyllis P. (Joe) Hassell, granddaughter Debbie Hassell both of Clarksville, and grandson Joey  (Megan) Hassell of Nashville.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hilldale UMC Memorial Fund.
