Lafayette Simpson

A Celebration of Life service is planned for Lafayette Patterson Simpson, age 94,  of Burns, Tennessee on Sunday, March 1, 2020, at 2:30 PM at Campground Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Erin, Tennessee with Bro. Terry Mathis and Rev. Dean Guye officiating. Burial will follow at Alsobrooks Cemetery.
The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM. Lafayette  passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2020.
He was born on May 22, 1925, in Erin, TN to E. H. and Dora Simpson.

Lafayette was a member of Campground Cumberland Presbyterian Church.  He was a devoted husband and he loved his family.  He was a World War II Navy Veteran and a Shriner. He also enjoyed fishing.  In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by 7 brothers and 2 sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 74 years Bessie Simpson, children, Dickie (Patty) Simpson and Patty (Sid) Goodwin, grandchildren, Jeff
(Misty) Goodwin and John (Elizabeth) Goodwin, and great-grandchildren: Sam, Grace, Mack, and Henry.

Pallbearers will be Landon Harvey, Brad Harvey, Don Hopper, Jeff Jerles, Andy Mackin, Dewayne Osborne and Harry Simpson.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the church of your choice.  Campground Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Erin and the Dickson Cumberland Presbyterian Church were important to him.
