Katherine McCurdy Gibbs, 78, Trion, Ga, formerly of Clarksville, died Monday, May 24, 2010, at her residence.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ed Alexander officiating.
Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Gibbs was born June 12, 1931 in Montgomery County, daughter of the late James Gideon McCurdy and Cleo Plummer McCurdy. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Melton Gibbs.
Mrs. Gibbs was a homemaker, she was a member of Hermitage Hills Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Maryville. Mrs. Gibbs is survived by three sons, Jim and wife Tammy, Jerry and wife Mia, Larry and wife Cheri Gibbs, two brothers Robert and wife Marynola, and Billy and wife Barbara McCurdy. Her sisters are Margaret and husband Lucian Smith, Joyce and husband Frank Matthews, Jean and husband Bobby Thomas and Peggy and husband Billy Groves. Grandchildren are Chad and wife Sara, Taylor, Reed, Emily, Adam and Katie, Shelby and Matthew Gibbs. Great grandchildren are Annabelle and Claire Gibbs.
Pallbearers will be Jim, Jerry, Larry, Chad, Adam, Reed, and Matthew Gibbs.
