Virgil Eugene South, Jr., 66, Clarksville, TN, died Tuesday, August, 24, 2009, at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital.
No services are planned. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
He was born February 15, 1943, in Moundsville, West Virginia, the son of the late Lucille and Virgil South, Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Carol South: siblings, Marie Satterfield, Alveretta Shimp, and Gary South all of Moundsville: children, Mark South of Clarksville and Tonya South of Murfreesboro Tennessee, grandchildren, Carolyn and Cody South of Clarksville; Sabrina and Cassandra South of Murfreesboro.
He was preceded in death by brother Curtis South and sister Donna Stackhouse.
He graduated from Austin Peay State University with a bachelor degree in business. He served in the US Army from 1962 until 1988.
His remains are to be cremated and military service is yet to be determined.
