Joyce May (Dorson) Newton, 56, Clarksville, died Saturday, December 25, 2010, at her home after an extended illness . The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. She was a homemaker and a New Hampshire native who had lived in Clarksville since 1972. She was preceded in death by her mother Jacqueline Norma Davis Harmon. She is survived by her husband, George Newton, whom she married September 4, 1976. Other than her husband, survivors include her father Robert Dorson, Virginia; Jennie Champagne of Clarksville who raised her as her daughter; brothers, Danny Champagne, Clarksville, William Dorson, New Hampshire; Nelson Dorson, New Hampshire, Richard Dorson, Vermont; and Albert (Karen) Champagne, Jr., Clarksville.
