Graveside service for Joyce McCurdy Matthews, age 81 of Clarksville, will be Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on April 2, 2016 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel. Joyce passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at her residence. She was born on October 3, 1934 in Montgomery county to JG and Cleo McCurdy. After many years of employment, Joyce retired from the First National Bank. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Margaret Smith, and Katherine Gibbs, and her brother, Robert McCurdy. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Frank Matthews, her children of her heart; Tricia (John) Wallace, Stacy (Bob) Bendt, Matthew Hudson, John Riley and Claire Wallace, sisters; Jean (Bob) Thomas, Peggy (Billy) Groves, brother, Billy (Barbara) McCurdy. Pallbearers will be; John Wallace, John Riley Wallace, Matthew Hudson, Tommy Jones, Freddie Matthews, Chad Gibbs and Jerry Gibbs. Honorary pallbearers will be; Robert Hughes, Leon Wilson, Neal Bateman, Jim Hale, and Robert Bendt. Donations may be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital at shrinershospitalsforchildren.org.
