Joseph Monroe Scruggs, 76, Pleasant View, died Monday, August 11, 2008, at Christian Care Center of Cheatham County.
The funeral will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Sykes Funeral Home with Rev. Jon Justice officiating.
Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at Sykes Funeral Home at Sykes Funeral Home.
Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Scruggs was born February 1, 1932 in Clarksdale, AR.
He was retired from the United States Air Force. He was awarded the Air Force Longevity Award, the Air Force Good Conduct Medal and the Air Force Commendation Medal.
He is survived by son, Herbert (Barbara) Scruggs, Pleasant View, TN; brother, Eugene Nimmo of IN and grandchildren, Dustin J. Scruggs and Shawn M. Scruggs. He was preceded in death by son, Larry J. Scruggs and brother, Everett R. Scruggs.
Members of the Military will serve as pallbearers.
