Irma Sykes Bagwell-Johnson, 85, Clarksville, died Thursday, October 15, 2009, at Montgomery Care and Rehab.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at Sykes Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Wallace and Rev. Don Sensing officiating.
Burial will be in Sango Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Saturday and from 1:00 P.M. until hour of service Sunday at Sykes Funeral Home.
Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Bagwell-Johnson was born in Humphreys County on October 3, 1924 to the late Thomas Gordon and Hattie Cox Sykes. She was preceded in death by husbands, Murray Bagwell, to whom she was married 62 years and Joe Johnson of Trenton, KY and a brother, Alvin Sykes.
She retired from the Clarksville-Montgomery School System as a Cafeteria Manager and was an Avon Representative. She was a member of the Sango UMC, the Country Women's Club, and a volunteer at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Visitors Center.
She is survived by her children, Tommy (Jane) Bagwell, Sandy (Charlie) Lieding, Raymond Bagwell, Sherry (Gary) Weaver: grandchildren, Scott Bagwell, Michelle Bagwell, Leanne Binkley, Ross Bagwell, and 4 great-grandchildren. Mr. Johnson's children, David (Debbie) Johnson, Jane (Karle) Dyer and their grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by brother Charles E. Sykes of Albany, GA, a sister, Juanita Hewitt of Ypsilanti, MI.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
