Johnny Kingsbury

August 25, 1941 — December 7, 2016

Johnny Kingsbury was born August 25, 1941 in Wellsboro, PA, the son of Charles and Mildred (Mosher) Kingsbury. His time on this earth ended on December 7, 2016.

He graduated from Wellsboro Area High School, class of 1959, Wellsboro, PA, and received his Associate of Arts Degree from Pikes Peak Community College (formerly El Paso Community College), Colorado Springs, CO. He also completed several computer courses and accounting classes at University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY.

He spent 24 years in the U.S. Army, retiring on August 1, 1983 at the rank of Sergeant First Class. His overseas service included three tours in Germany and three tours in Vietnam. He received numerous awards and commendations including the Bronze Star Medal.

After his military retirement, he worked as a manager at McDonalds and also as a typesetter/graphic artist at Allegra Printing in Clarksville, TN.

His hobbies included guitar, singing and songwriting.

Johnny’s wishes were to be cremated and his urn interred with full military honors at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, located at 7931 McCrory Lane, Nashville, Tennessee 37221. Services will take place on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.

Johnny is survived by: wife, Sue Ellen (Cunningham) Kingsbury, Clarksville, TN, daughters, Bonnie Jean Eichentopf (David), Longview, WA and Kelly Ann Reynolds (Richard “Rick”), Lovelock, NV, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his son, John Milan Kingsbury.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the National Kidney Foundation would be appreciated.
