John Edward Pottmeyer John Edward Pottmeyer, 68, Clarksville, died Friday, July 18, 2008, at his son's residence. The funeral will be held at 12 Noon Tuesday at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Father Rob Courtney officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until hour of service Tuesday at Sykes Funeral Home. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Pottmeyer was born on September 24, 1939 in Pittsburgh, PA the late Austin George Pottmeyer and the late Bertha (Schaffer) M. Pottmeyer. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Yong Joong Pottmeyer and a brother Joseph Pottmeyer. He was retired from the United States Army with 20 years service and from Civil Service. He is survived by four sons: James Pottmeyer, Columbus, OH, Kenneth Pottmeyer, Smyrna, Joseph Pottmeyer, Hohenwald, TN and Will Pottmeyer, Murfreesboro; two sisters, Eleanor Kalinowski and Mary Pederson, both of PA. Pallbearers will be James Pottmeyer, Kenneth Pottmeyer, Joseph Pottmeyer, Will Pottmeyer, Bobby Coleman, Ryan J. Pottmeyer, Benjiman J. Pottmeyer. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Gateway Hospice, 1760 Madison St., Clarksville, TN 37043.
