John W. Davis, 64, Clarksville, TN, died Saturday, September 6, 2008, at St. Thomas Hospital. The funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Hester, Rev. Helen Morgan & Mary Margaret Davis officiating. Burial will be in Martha's Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. till 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service Wednesday at Sykes Funeral Home. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Davis was born in Montgomery County, TN on January 30, 1944, son of the late Clyde S. and Lillie Epps Davis. Mr. Davis was the owner of John W. Davis Heating, Cooling and Refrigeration Service, a member of Martha's Chapel United Methodist Church, member of the Antioch Charge United Methodist Men and a former member of the Central Civitan Club. Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Peggy Hargrove Davis; son, Brian (Mary Margaret) Davis of Clarksville; daughter, Tammy (Tommy) Arms of Cunningham; sister, Martha (Earl) Elrod of Palmyra; grandchildren, Shaun Arms, Erick Arms and John Thomas (J.T.) Davis Pallbearers will be nephews, Ronnie Greene, Nicky Nicholson, Ron Sleigh, Robin Sleigh, Steve Davis, Kenny Elrod, Larry Davis and Chris Freeland. Honorary Pallbeaers will be, Frank Chadwick, Charles Ransdell, Bob Byard, Robert Reynolds, Lowell Garrigus and members of the Mid-Timers Sunday School Class of Martha's Chapel United Methodist Church.
