Jo Ann Vanzant, 77, Clarksville, died Wednesday, October 22, 2008, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Larry Robertson officiating. Burial will be in Rock Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday and from 10:00 until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Ms. Vanzant was born March 2, 1931 in Cheatham County, TN, daughter of the late James Anthony and Mary Alice Morris Gafford. She was retired from State Industries. She attended Hilldale Baptist Church. Survived by her daughter Lynn Morton and son-in-law Neal Morton of Clarksville; brother Burton Gafford, Chattanooga, and sister Ida Lee Wallace of Clarksville. Her grandchildren are Jacob and Joshua Morton. Family members will serve as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Hospital. www.sykesfuneralhome.com
