Janet Patrice Patton, 58, Clarksville, died Saturday, August 22, 2009, at Gateway Medical Center after a courageous battle against cancer.
No services are planned. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Janet was born to Don and Oma Smith on December 24, 1950 in Monticello, Arkansas. She earned a Bechelor of Arts Degree in Art and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She was employed by Federal Express Corporation and loved her position there as a Solutions Analyst.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Brian Patton and two daughters, Mary Alice Patton and Lucie Patton, in Clarksville, TN. She is also survived by two sisters, Sudie Smith in Ft. Worth, Texas, and Donna Stewart in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents. Janet was a loving and caring wife and mother. Her daughters, Mary Alice and Lucie, were the pride of her life. Janet had a beautiful voice and an energetic personality. She loved to sing and had been a member of the choir at the First United Methodist Church in West Point, Mississippi. Although she was also a "self- diagnosed recovering workaholic," Janet liked to garden, sew, cook and do anything with her family.
Thanks for all of the prayers, positive thoughts and medical efforts made on behalf of Janet throughout her brave and courageous battle with this terrible disease.
She will be cremated and there will be a memorial service with her family and friends in Fayetteville, Arkansas at a date yet to be determined.
