James Shelton, Jr.

Funeral service for James Shelton, age 80 of Clarksville, will be Friday, December 28 at 2:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:00 PM until the time of service.

James passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at Tennova Healthcare. He was born on July 29, 1938 in Montgomery County, TN to Oliver and Katie Glasgow Shelton. He was an active member of Christian Heights Methodist Church in Hopkinsville, KY. James was a retired auctioneer, enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family. He is preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Maxine Shelton; his mother; son, Mike (Rhue) Shelton; daughter, Kari (Cliff) Prater; sister, Anne (Ed Nieten)Shelton; and granddaughter, Grace Prater.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
