James Lee "Butterball" Motes, age 61 of Hopkinsville, KY passed away Friday, November 14, 2014 at Jennie Stuart Medical Center. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. The Funeral will be at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Akins officiating. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2015 and 4:00 p.m. until the hour of service on Sunday, November 16, 2014 at the funeral home.
"Butterball" was born in Clarksville on September 8, 1953 to the late Ernest Motes and Mary Rittenberry Motes. He was also preceded in death by a brother, John Motes.
He was the Receiving Manager for Hilltop CeeBee Food Store.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Rittenberry Motes; wife, Deborah Motes; daughters, Michelle (Sandy Smith) Motes, Lisa Motes; sisters, Janie Gauthier of MA, Annie Mae Motes of Clarksville, Jo Ann Newman of Clarksville, Betty Hughes of Clarksville; 3 grandchildren and father-in-law, Elmer Oleniczak.
