James Fredrick Castruccio (Jim), 71, of Clarksville, TN died on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at Vanderbilt Hospital, from complications due to esophageal cancer. A memorial service will be held 1:00 pm, Saturday, August 3, 2013 at All Saints Old Catholic Church in Clarksville, followed by a Celebration of Jim's Life at the Cumberland Room at 3:30 pm.
Jim was born on April 17, 1942 in Los Angeles, CA. He grew up in Southern California, Arizona and Denver, CO. After graduating from Loyola University in Los Angeles in 1965 he began a 21-year career with the armed forces as a Special Agent for the Air Force Office of Special Investigations. He married Sandra Lee Rawlins (Penny) in June 1966 and had two children, Terri and James. Upon retirement from the Air Force in 1986, they moved to Elizabeth, CO where he worked as an independent investigator. In 2003 he and Penny moved to Clarksville to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
Jim was always a very active member of his church wherever they lived, serving as a lay leader in every parish. After retiring to Clarksville, he dedicated his life to All Saints Old Catholic Church. He was ordained a deacon in February 2013 and was contemplating his call to the priesthood.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James Sentous Castruccio and Joan Grim Castruccio, as well as his wife Penny.
He is survived by his two children, Terri (Bret) Hurst and James (Jonalee) Castruccio; and five grandchildren, Joshua, Jessica and Jacob Hurst, and Jonah and Abigail Castruccio. He is also survived by his brother, John Castruccio, and two sisters, Mary Jo Castruccio and Lisa Brown.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jim's memory to All Saints Catholic Church (Clarksville) or Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center (Nashville).
