James Franklin Taylor Carter, age 31 of Edgeley, ND passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2013 in Kulm, ND. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. The Funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Sanders officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 and 1:00 p.m. until hour of service on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Gum Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
He was born in Clarksville, TN on December 15, 1981 to James Taylor and Scarlett Herndon Taylor. He was also preceded in death by grandfathers, Franklin Delano Herndon and Billy Joe Taylor. He was a farmer and served as Youth Pastor at First Congregational Church in Kulm, ND.
He is survived by fathers, James Taylor, Billy Dean Carter, Jr.; mother, Scarlett Herndon; sister, Jamie Faye (Corey) Dales, brother, Billy Dean Carter, III; grandmothers, Mildred Jean Herndon and Rebecca Christian Taylor.
Pallbearers will be T.J. Newman, Eric Dedrick, Jared Herndon, Shayn Herndon, Billy Carter, Jacob Post and Joseph Worrel.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Corey Dales, Taran Nitschke, Dillon Carpenter and Benjamin Elhard.
