James Monroe Austin, age 87, of Clarksville passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at his residence. Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 10, 2014 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Sykes Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held 3:00 pm on Friday, July 11, 2014 at Moore Cemetery, Bear Springs in Stewart County.
Jimmy was born January 5, 1927 in Stewart County to the late Roe and Nannie Snoddy Austin. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Helen Walker Austin; brother, Frank Austin.
He is survived by his sons, Chris Austin and Mark (Jamie) Austin, both of Clarksville; sisters, Mary Ellen Lemons, of Carlisle, June Thrasher of Goodlettesville; grandchildren, Doug (Courtney) Austin and Jill Austin both of Clarksville.
