Jack Whitt Harrison 87, passed away June 1, 2011 at Quality Health Care in Lebanon, TN. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. today at Life Assembly, 555 Pleasant Grove Road, Mt. Juliet, TN with Rev. Andrew Wharton and Rev. Billy R. Jones officiating. Visitation will be at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service. Burial will follow in the Nettleton Cemetery in Jonesboro, Arkansas on Saturday June 4, at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements are being handled by Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. Clarksville, TN.
Mr. Harrison was born October 21, 1923 in Waco, TX. He served during World War II in the Army and Air Force. He was a Retired Executive from the shoe making industry and served as Vice President of production at Acme Boot Co. and General Manager of Texas Boot Co. in Lebanon, TN. He was also owner of Harrison Lock Service of Eufaula.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Dick) Yarborough and son Robert Lynn (Bobby) Harrison. Survivors include his wife of 65 years Doris Harrison, sons Jack (Sherry) Harrison, Randall Harrison, Michael (Teresa) Harrison, Ronald (Naomi) Harrison, nine grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made payable to Life Assembly and earmarked for the Jack Harrison Memorial Fund. These funds will be used in endeavors to enrich children_
