Herschel L. Rose, 89, Clarksville, died Monday, May 17, 2010, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tim Ferrell officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Dickson County. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m Wednesday and from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Rose was born April 2, 1921 in Montgomery County, son of the late Claude and Mary Lou Broome Rose. He was preceded in death by his siblings Beatrice Suiter, Rushia Butts and William G. Rose. He worked for Beach Oil Co. for over 43 years, and was an Elder of Locust Grove Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife Christine Powers Rose, and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Steve Powers, Darrell Allison, Andy Allison, Robert Allison, Richard Butts, David Rose and Josh Rose.
