A Celebration of Life service for Helen Delia Griffin, age 88 of Clarksville, will be held Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 11:00 AM at New Providence United Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel and Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the church. Helen passed away on Friday, September 21, 2018 at her residence.

Helen is preceded in death by her husband John G. Griffin, daughter Mary Carole Griffin, three brothers, and three sisters. She is survived by her sons, Richard (Pam) Griffin and Thomas (Sally Schori) Griffin, grandchildren; Kathryn, Kirk, and Gwen Griffin, Kayanna Keehn, and Casey Griffin, and great grandchildren; Kaleb, Joshua, and Alyssia, sisters; Louise Murphy and Dorothy Young, and brothers; Bryan Burns and David Burns.

Helen was twice elected to the Montgomery County Board of Education, President of the TN Board of Education, she participated in the formation and running of the United Methodist Urban Ministries Safehouse, she also helped organize Loaves and Fishes.
