Harlan Leroy Kirkendall, Jr., 70, Clarksville, died Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Dominick Azzara officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Kirkendall was born June 11, 1940 in Toledo, Ohio, son of the late Harlan L. and Margaret Wilcox Kirkendall. He was preceded in death by his brothers William and Robert Kirkendall. He retired from the US Navy. He was president of Fil-AM Int'l Assn of Clarksville, TN, and was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife Laurita Bernardes Kirkendall, and his sister Olive and her husband Rocco Rista. Military will serve as pallbearers.
