A graveside service for Harlan Grubb, Jr. age 80, of Cumberland Furnace, TN, will be Sunday, August 4, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Southside Cemetery. Pastor Dwayne Smith and Bro. Will Binkley will officiate.
Harlan was born on April 29, 1944, in Dingess, WV, to Harlin and Virginia Grubb. He passed away surrounded by his loving family on July 29, 2024. Harlan was a veteran of the United States Army, retired from Averitt Lumber Company, and a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church. However, his greatest achievement was sharing with others the happiness of 56 years of marriage to his faithful and loving wife, Cecilia. Harlan loved spending time with his family and was a proud Pawpaw to all of his grandchildren. He especially enjoyed time with his siblings, nieces and nephews at the family hunting camp. Harlan liked being outdoors, hunting, and fishing.
In addition to his parents, Harlan is preceded in death by his siblings: Hazel Moore, Betty McKinster, and Garnet Dempsey. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Cecilia Travis Grubb; daughters: Carol Jarman, Debbie Mayberry, and Pam (Roger) Baggett; siblings: Helen (William) Epling, John (Jeanne) Grubb, Ada Travis, Donald Grubb, Geraldine Deyton, Maxine Williams, Jimmy (Susan) Grubb, Sue Grubb, and Rhonda Grubb; grandchildren: Nathan Jarman, Chassidy (Matt) Sinks, Caleb Christy, Angela (Johnny) Mayberry, Codie Kunstmann, Erica (Andy) Smith, Trevor (Madalyn) Mayberry, Lyndsey Baggett, Dillon (Charlsie) Baggett, and Kayleigh Baggett; great-grandchildren: Kolby (Makayla) Baldwin, Bailey Sinks, Ruby Clark, Ollie Smith, Charlee Clark due August 2024, and Aeliana Stinnett; and great-great granddaughter, Sylvie Baldwin.
Pallbearers will be Nathan Jarman, Caleb Christy, Trevor Mayberry, Kolby Baldwin, Matt Sinks, and Roger Baggett.
