It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of Gregory Earl Clinard on September 20, 2023.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 1:00 PM. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
Gregory was born to Charles and Betty Clinard, on February 19, 1969, in Meridian, Mississippi.
Gregory held many titles in life; son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and Poppy. He served in the US Army as an Electronic Warfare Intelligence Analyst and then eventually spent over 20 years working at Trane.
When he wasn't on the beach, watching a Vols football game, cracking jokes with friends, he was spending time with his wife, Susan and their dog Nattie, his daughter Kayla, and his granddaughters; Brooklynn, Ember, and Dahlia.
Despite his recent illness, he never lost his sense of humor. Throughout this trying journey, he remained positive and would crack his infamous dad jokes to get through the tough times. His ability to make others smile and his sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Gregory is survived by his father, Charles Clinard, wife, Susan Clinard, his daughter, Kayla Coon (Devin), his granddaughters; Brooklynn, Ember, and Dahlia, his brothers John and Jason Clinard, his nephews; Alexander Thurow, Andrew Shields, Chris Clinard, and Daniel Proffit, and his nieces; Caitlin Cox, Rebecca Shields, and Jenna Proffit.
He is preceded in death by his mother Betty Clinard and his wife Dorothy Clinard.
He was a light in this world, and now we must remember to continue sharing his light within us in our own lives.
We would like to express our gratitude to his care team over the past few months and in lieu of flowers request donations be made to Tennessee Oncology and Alive Hospice.
