Gordon S. Grissom, 82, Clarksville, died Monday, June 8, 2009, at his residence.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Davidson Graveyard Cemetery with Brother Mike Madewell and Brother Larry King officiating.
Burial will be in Davidson Graveyard Cemetery.
Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Grissom was born March 19, 1927 in Akron, Ohio, son of the late Horton James and Helen Starr Grissom.
He retired from Civil Service at Ft. Campbell, and was a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist. He served in the U.S Navy Reserve in Occupied Japan.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Catherine Gupton Grissom; son Randy (Carmen) Grissom, Clarksville; daughters Linda Joyce (Glynn) Noe of Hendersonville; Debbie (Jimmy) Shelton of Clarksville; brother Albert Lee (Julie) Grissom, Inverness, FL. Grandchildren are Jeffrey Noe, Michael (Shannon) Noe, Hendersonville; Ethan Grissom and Eli Grissom of Clarksville; one great grandchild Brittany Noe of Hendersonville. Step-grandchildren are Jeremy Shelton, Monterey, CA; Kimberly Shelton-Williams and Kyle Shelton, Sevierville; and Ty Shelton of Clarksville.
