Funeral service for Glenn Howard Nelson, age 79 of Clarksville, will be Friday, July 27, 2012 at 1:00 pm at the Sykes Funeral Home. Dr. John David Laida will officiate. Entombment will follow in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens with full Military Honors. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 26, 2012 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and again on Friday from 11:00 am till 1:00 pm at Sykes Funeral Home.
Glenn passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at his Residence. He was born on Aug 20, 1932 in Central City, Nebraska to the late H. Chris Nelson and Florence Elizabeth Waumett Nelson. He was a retired Major in the Air Force, he served during the Vietnam War as a Bomber Pilot and was in the Strategic Air Command. He is a member of Delta Tau Delta, was a Senior Athelete in the Senior Olympics and was in the Duplicate Bridge Club.
He is survived by his Wife, Janet Nelson of Clarksville; Daughter, Linda Gail (Keith) Burton; Daughter, Jennifer Joy Nelson; Daughter, Audrey Annette Nelson; Son, Glenn Andy ( Emily) Nelson; Son, Frederick Jay Nelson; Brother, Thomas Nelson; Sister, Luana Sharp; Grandchildren; Ben (Vera) Hanson, Jodi (Shannon)Kendall, David Hanson, Jeremy Gray, Tim (Amanda)Gray, Josh Gray, Jacob Meek, Christian Meek, Matthew Nelson, Andrew Nelson, Jonathan Nelson, Eric Nelson, Naomi Nelson, Doug (Lisa)Burton, Emily (Mike) Williams; 7 Great Grandchildren and 5 Step-Great Grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
