Glen Chester, Sr.

A Celebration of Life service for Glen Reeves Chester, Sr., age 97, will be Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Sykes Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until the time of service. Bro. Steve Kirby will officiate.

Glen was born on June 5, 1924 in Montgomery County, TN to Edwin and Nellie Dunlavey Chester. He passed away on May 5, 2022. Glen was a veteran of the United States Army and Army Reserves. He was a member of Hilldale Church of Christ and owned/operated Chester Restaurant Supply along with his wife from 1966-2002. He enjoyed spending time with his family and going hunting and fishing with his grandchildren. Glen always wore a smile. He loved life, a good scoop of ice cream,and a close horse race.

In addition to his parents, Glen is preceded in death by his wife, Emma Lou Cobb Chester; grandson, Benjamin Chester; and siblings: Winfield Chester, Margaret Chester, and Robert "Chigger" Chester. He is survived by his loving children: Vickie (Del) Brewer, Glen (Lela) Chester, Jr., and Teresa (Mark) Winn; grandchildren: Mandy Green, Matt Winn, Hunter Winn, and April Chester; great- grandson, Brady Winn; and sister, Lucy Nell Grace.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the charity of your choice.
