Girlean Hogue

Girlean P. Hogue, 102, Clarksville, died Friday, August 29, 2008, at Spring Meadows Nursing Home. The funeral will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at Sykes Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Graves officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday and from ll:00 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at Sykes Funeral Home. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Hogue was born on February 24, 1906 in Dickson County to the late Earnest and Birdie Bishop Brown. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Russell Hogue and a son, Carl Thomas Jarman, two brothers, Clearan Brown and Ivy Brown. She was retired from Petri Cigar Factory. She was a member of Plesant View Baptist Church, the Golden Circle and the Golden Rambler Seniors Group. She is survived by nephew, Larry (Marion) Brown and a daughter-in-law, Darlene Burgi, 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, Contributions may be made to Pleasant View Baptist Church Building Fund, 1388 Cumberland Heights Road, Clarksville, TN 37040.
