Funeral service for George Howard Newton, age 68 of Clarksville, will be Thursday, Jan 14, 2016 at 12:00 pm at the Sykes Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. James Sanders will officiate. Burial will follow in the KY Veterans Cemetery West at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Jan 13, 2016 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Sykes Funeral Home and on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
George passed away on Sunday, Jan 10, 2016 at Grace Health Care. He was born on Jan 16, 1947 in Clarksville, TN to Jesse and Effie Fulks Newton. He attended Hilldale Baptist Church, he was a veteran in the US Navy and served during the vietam war, he was a retired Accountant from the Montgomery County Trustees office with over 35 years of service.
He is survived by his brother, James R. Newton; sisters, Juanita (Roy) Montgomery and Linda King; several nieces and nephews; close friends, Lee and Corinthia Elder and their children, Sharina, Silas & Savannah.
