SFC (Ret) George Thomas Cooksey, age 59, of Clarksville passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013 at his residence. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Theo officiating. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Sykes Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West.
He was born on February 8, 1954 in Washington, D.C. to the late Joseph Edward and Rose Loretta Melling Cooksey. He was retired from the US Army and a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
He is survived by Lisa Cooksey; daughter, Nyssa (Brent) Adkins and granddaughter, Emory, daughter, Kirstin Cooksey and sister, Rose Leon of Silver Spring, MD.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
