Garner Heflin, 82, Clarksville, died Friday, October 9, 2009, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Sykes Funeral Home Chapel with Preacher Roy Williams officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Indian Mound. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service Monday at the funeral home. Mr. Heflin was born November 10, 1926 in Stewart County, son of the late Charlie and Rosabelle Harrison Heflin. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers Ed Heflin, Roy Heflin, Bailey Heflin and sisters Loraine Suiter and Louise Smith. Mr. Heflin was retired from the Continental Motor Corporation, Detroit, Michigan and a member of Oakwood Church of Christ. Mr. Heflin is survived by his wife Patricia Lynn Choate-Heflin and sisters; Eva Davis of Clarksville and Jewel Key of Guthrie, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be Jacob, Billy and Brice Smith, Eric Choate, Will Kosnitch and Larry Luton. Donations may be made in Mr. Heflin's memory to Oakwood Church of Christ.
