SSGT (Ret) Floyd Richard Chapman, age 80, of Clarksville passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012 at his residence. Sykes Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of arrangements. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 28, 2012 at Sykes Funeral Home with Dr. Larry Robertson officiating.
He was born January 15, 1932 in Oregon City, OR to the late Glendon Richard and Mildred Mae Mitchell Chapman. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Margie Marie Lewis Chapman; sons, Richard Clayton Chapman, Floyd Matthew Chapman; one brother and three sisters.
He was retired from the US Army with 22 years of service. He served in Vietnam two years and was a POW twice. He later worked for Clarksville Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by daughter, Shelia (Glenn) Montgomery; grandchildren, Christy Smith Haught, Elizabeth Bartlett, Glendon Matthew Riggins, Richard Alan Wilson, Eric Montgomery, Brian Montgomery, Brittany Montgomery, Casey Montgomery; great-grandchildren Vincenzo Riggins, Francesca Riggins, Sierra Cutlip, Sydney Wilson, Taylor Montgomery, Tyler Montgomery, Josh Haught and Danielle Haught.
